Kevin De Bruyne Cup: fifth edition brings European Under 15 football elite to Drongen again

A parade of young international soccer talent is expected at May 28 and 29, 2022 on the grounds of the East Flanders first-provincial KVE Drongen, where the anniversary version of the KDB Cup will be held. A special event for players U15, an age category that Kevin De Bruyne looks back on with pleasure and whose first edition was held in 2016. Then the Portuguese Benfica SL crowned themselves as winners, followed in the following years respectively by the Spanish Barcelona, RSC Anderlecht and the English Chelsea.

The coronavirus stopped us twice. This time we hope that 2022 will be a better year for a unique soccer and family event. We are therefore pleased to announce that the names of the participating teams have been announced. On the Belgian side we can count on the presence of RSC Anderlecht, Club Brugge, KRC Genk and KAA Gent. From the Netherlands comes multiple champion Ajax (after previously AZ, Feyenoord and PSV) for the first time as a representative from above the Moerdijk to the Keiskant complex.

FC Barcelona is already in its fourth year and knows the qualitative requirements of the KDB Cup. It excited the competitors of Real Madrid such that a Clásico even becomes possible at the end of May on Belgian soccer fields in Ghent. Lille LOSC then forms another newcomer from France, but is joined by PSG (fourth participation) to uphold the honor of our southern neighbors. Borussia Dortmund, employer of our compatriots Thomas Meunier, Axel Witsel and Thorgan Hazard, finished eighth in 2018 and seems determined to perform a lot better this time around.

Closing out we do with the teams from England. Manchester City wants to apply the principle of "third time, good time" to have a shot at the final victory, but best also takes into account the strength of Chelsea FC. The Londoners seem keen to extend their title.

A fun and promising poster, combined with the necessary 'fun' elements, this will be an ideal outing for all people who love top sport and can meet some future soccer idols.
