KDB Cup spoils its volunteers

On Sunday, Sept. 11, the canteen of brand-new nationaler KVE Drongen was packed at noon. Not for a home game of the first team, but rather for an apero with delicious snacks and an extensive cold buffet offered by the VZW KDB as a thank you to all those who dedicate all year for the KDB Cup.

Together with their partners, as well as children, they slid in at noon at the magnificent buffet. They were regaled with a variety of meat, fish, vegetables and fruits by catering partner Qook Quality Catering Solutions under a bright sun. A large group, especially when you know that for the fifth edition of the international U15 tournament on an anniversary three-day period between May 27 and 29, nearly four hundred volunteers were called upon.

A large group who contributed to the days of the KDB Cup joined them later for an apero and appetizers followed by a piece of cake and coffee for dessert. They got to hear through the screens another word of thanks from Manchester by Kevin De Bruyne himself. But also (top) referee Bram Van Driessche, on the appointment from the first edition, took the time to pay tribute to the organization, as did BV captains Aster Nzeyimana and Christophe Stienlet. Chairman Paul Naudts emphasized that such an event is only possible thanks to the commitment and passion of a large group of motivated enthusiasts and we wanted to pay tribute to them all. A sixth edition of the KDB Cup will follow on June 10 and 11, 2023.

The entirety of the wonderful afternoon concluded with a musical performance by DJ Read D feat the one and only Lady Linn. It worked so infectiously that even the dance floor quickly filled up.
